I am the treasurer of the Germania
Society which hold the oldest
and most authentic Oktoberfest in Southwestern Ohio. It is in late
August which was chosen so it would be before the kids went back to school
or so we could get it over with and then enjoy the other festivals throughout
the fall...
I am a member of the Greater Cincinnati Blues Society. We did a little fund raiser for the Katrina Storm victims at Germania Park which I helped run.
Downtown Cincinnati has a little Oktoberfest (about 200K people attend). Germania has a booth there called the Germania Schnitzel Haus. Since I did not get to any of the real work at our Oktoberfest (as treasurer all I do is count the results of other peoples work) I decided to volunteer to run the booth downtown.
then there are a couple of Pig Roasts that I help out at...
All of this (except the Blues Society benefit) were in place before I took a real job 120 miles from home. Alas, even before that I was not a very good blogger. Now... well I am headed to Florida for Rob and Liz's wedding.
It is a tough life is it not???
